Hormone Replacement Therapy

HRT- Hormone Replacement Therapy - This is a term used to describe hormones that are equivalent to hormones physiologically found in the human body.  At Compounding Specialists of Wyoming, we compound HRT in creams, lotions, suppositories, sub-lingual drops, capsules, suspensions, troches or any other dosage form that you or your physician may have a certain preference to.  These hormones include Progesterone, Estrogen, Estrogen Complex DHEA, and Testosterone.  The most active estrogen is Estradiol and the most protective, according to some physicians, is considered to be Estriol, although there is no definitive study or scientific proof of this.  Normally the estrogens are dispensed as a compounded Estrogen Complex with the ratio of estrogens prescribed specifically by your doctor.  Recently, more physicians consider leaving out Estrone since under initial study, it seems that indicators show it to be one of the more carcinogenic (cancer causing) of the natural estrogenic hormones, although preliminary studies have provided no difinitive proof.

Fish Oil Can Help Reduce Deaths From Heart Disease

An agency of the National Institues of Health has published a report stating that fish oil can help reduce deaths from heart disease. In fact, the report says supportive, but not conclusive research shows that consumption of fatty acids may actually reduce the risk of coronary heart disease. The latest government report cites the triglyceride-lowering effects of fish oil on reducing heart and blood vessel disorders. Another beneficial mechanism of fish oil is to protect healthy blood flow in arteries. These enchanced benefits of Fish Oil help guard against lipid acid, the precursor to heart disease and blood vessel disorders.

Also, according to research, sesame lignans and olive fruit extract may significantly enhance the benefits of fish oil. The combination of fish oil and sesame improves mitochondrial energy output, helping to maintain healthy triglyceride levels, and the burning of blood borne fats. Plus, sesame lignans peroxidate and help protect against degradation of EPA and DHA in the body. Sesame lignans also increase levels of the beneficial DGLA (di-homo-gamma-linolenic-prostaglandin D1). This prostaglandin has numerous health benefits including suppression of inflammatory events. Olive Fruit is known to contain some of the most potent antioxidants known to science. What's more, when polyphenol-rich olive oil is added to fish oil, a synergistic inflammatory reducing effect occurs.  Most impressive was a study showing that polyphenol-rich olive oil decreased LDL oxidation and increased beneficial HDL oxidation.

Life Extension Laboratories has identified an olive fruit extract complex which it plans to refine and market.  Just 100 mg of the cutting-edge Polyphen-Oil complex provides the same amount of polyphenols equivalent to absorbing two ounces of virgin olive oil daily.
